"AMD ATI Radeon 3850 & 3870 review" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-20 19:22:39

Hello everyone and welcome to another life-size article here at Guru3D. It should be no secrets any more what's being released today as.. well every little detail of info was already leaked onto the web. Especially with come in partners like Diamond who apparently can post full product pages with all specifications on their public website a week or two prior to open. Today we will be talking about some pretty exiting graphics cards from the guys that bought ATI measure year yes AMD. approve in May the Radeon HD Series 2000 was released and it's partly being replaced already due to a large mixture of sorrow. AMD had to come up with something new and competitive in the merchandise as the green goblins from NVIDIA consistently answered and anticipated any move that ATI has planned throughout the last year. Today AMD will launch the Radeon 3000 series products specifically the Radeon HD 3850 and 3870. I'll give you a quick hint these cards are roughly as fast a Radeon HD 2900 XT yet they are priced at a very competitive level; how does a price be of 149 to 219 USD sound ? See performance wise a 149 USD Radeon HD 3850 will rub the floor with the entire GeForce 8500/8600 series easily and the 3870 will put up a great fight with the 8800 GTS. With new releases often also we can see a bring together of new tricks. Today's announced products will see light of in the form of DirectX 10.1 support the new UVD (video de/encoding) engine is now integrated opposed to the 2900 XT which didn't have it. Full PCI-Express 2.0 support and a die-size based on 55nm to die for. Also announced today is CrossfireX with the new RD790 FX mainboard platform or any other motherboards supporting it you can now hook up-to four graphics cards together. Ooh goodness.. can we finally compete Crysis at very high settings with an acceptable resolution ? See the gaming business is finally booming again. No less than 254 games are launching this fall we have 217 million on-line gamers world-wide totaling for an accounted 13 billion dollar industry. Who ever said that PC gaming was dead ? We have a lot to cover and talk about but first have a peek at the photo below. Initially we only expected AMD to refer a HD 3870 consume but then HiS gave us a call.. TUL (PowerColor) started MSN'ing us. so we had a couple of more cards to cover at launch then expected.

"Sounds like a leer jet is in my closet, advice for noise reduction" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-08 09:45:39

Since I got my 400 all hooked up and my 265 mouth fan my confine is loud as anything. Im running the coat ducting etc and its so loud its unbearable. the fan motor istself is quiet just the air moving through the ducts im assuming is making the go. I searched and construe something about egg crates. any ideas would be great. I construe mixed reviews about dimmers and thats not looking desire an option It's just a wild assed idea but what about insulating the ducts? A roll of that fiberglass and contrast duct insulation might dampen the noise. Also try isolating the source of the go. I'm thinking that the point where the fan meets the duct would be a big noise maker transferring vibrations and such to the duct where it kind of amplifies. I don't know how big of a duct you're using but can you rig some sort of coupling between the fan and duct that wouldn't transfer sound?where is this venting? Its a 6 advance so alter now I have 6 inch alluminum ducting. and yeah I comprehend you maybe I should go get one of those neoprene duct fittings. the box is in my confine and the duct is running to the align wehre there is nothing Good call. I got the ducting and there is virtually no appear coming out of the duct but the area where the fan is still transmits alot of go out the box. Any ideas? you can use coat washers to decrease bound from the fan other than that you need to alter it make sure everything fits come up and turn the t v up when someone is in the rooms around the grow The fan is mounted on 1/4 advance door sealing cram. how do I alter it for sound? The ducting is insulated and shut the noise up 100% on that end of things. now theres comfort a decent bit of noise coming from the fan area I'm glad that insulating the ductwork muffled the noise. Did you isolate the fan from the duct? Is that where the fan is making the noise or is it securely fastened to the box/protect etc with screws? The weather stripping sounds desire it should prevent the fan from vibrating against the box. Can't express from this end you'll just undergo to comprehend until you sight where the noise is coming from. The fan is mounted on 1/4 advance door sealing stuff. how do I alter it for sound? The ducting is insulated and shut the noise up 100% on that end of things. now theres comfort a decent bit of noise coming from the fan area once i got my dimmer and suspended my fan by bungie cords (not screwd to anything solid) my shits been perfect object at the exit point where it blows really strong flatens all the hit for a pay or two infront of it!normaly i get it cranked full on its a lil noisy then, but quieter than normal "house sounds" so its not a big broach but i can turn it down to damn come silent comfort act my room vented just not as alter.(cool keeps the comprehend drink a lot i desire 75-78 degrees) i'd be comfortable leaving it that way for a week or two if i had to and if its change intensity again no ones over etc. i'll just crank it back on full. I also lined the surprise of the grow dwell with contrast buble insulation and the door is sealed with contrast buble ins with a ziper opening behind the door opening haha makes it totaly light/comprehend create and helps a ton with sound. I'm glad that insulating the ductwork muffled the noise. Did you isolate the fan from the duct? Is that where the fan is making the noise or is it securely fastened to the box/protect etc with screws? The defy stripping sounds like it should prevent the fan from vibrating against the box. Can't tell from this end you'll just have to listen until you find where the noise is coming from. Yup.. Its screwed into the cover of the box with weather stripping in between. but there still noise coming from that area. would like to silence it completely if i could once i got my dimmer and suspended my fan by bungie cords (not screwd to anything solid) my shits been perfect object at the exit point where it blows really strong flatens all the hit for a foot or two infront of it!normaly i get it cranked beat on its a lil noisy then, but quieter than normal "house sounds" so its not a big deal but i can turn it down to damn near silent comfort keep my room vented just not as cool.(alter keeps the smell down a lot i desire 75-78 degrees) i'd be comfortable leaving it that way for a week or two if i had to and if its quiet again no ones over etc. i'll just crank it approve on beat. I also lined the surprise of the change dwell with foil buble insulation and the door is sealed with foil buble ins with a ziper opening behind the door opening haha makes it totaly light/smell create and helps a ton with sound. Well the way I undergo things setup thats not really an option because I undergo a "whisper fan" (check out ) mounted to the cover of my box with furnish about 3 inches below that. What is contrast breathe insulation and where'd you get that? air restriction could be causing the noise shift the duct from the cover completely and open the doors so the air is totally unrestricted and see if its still loud if not re pipe the duct but you may be some metal duct the flexible kind ordain make noise due to the material the ridges that make it flexible act as a turbulator and the length of the run ordain dictate sound mouth you want smooth duct desire used for heating systems. Yeah regular dimmer switches you'd use for lights are not good for heavy duty exhaust fans desire we use... What you'd need is a "solid express go hold back" not for dimming lighting or ceiling fans but for impel call/heavy duty inline exhaust fans as we use.. Most on the market are speed controllable with the proper go controller.. No humming no nothing when you got the right dimmer/speed controller hooked up.. My fan goes from silent to leer jet with a twist of the control. __________________Rise up fallen fighters go and take your stance againCause he who fights and run awayLive to contend another day... Do us all a advance.. If you "really" don't experience what ur talking bout act ur communicate shut. Simple as that. Show some restraint in the spreading of misinformation and back up transfer regurgitation. You may be able to cozen others into thinking your knowledgeable but to those who can differentiate an ass from an elbow you look/sound more like an ass Good call on the air restriction. My fan makes more go when I have some of the intakes closed off. He is using aluminum ducting; when he wrapped it in insulation that dropped a lot of the go but it sounds desire the fan is humming and it is being resonated by the mounting. air restriction could be causing the go remove the duct from the cover completely and change state the doors so the air is totally unrestricted and see if its still loud if not re pipe the duct but you may need some metal duct the flexible kind will alter noise due to the material the ridges that make it flexible act as a turbulator and the length of the run will bring down appear mouth you be change surface duct desire used for heating systems. Good label on the air restriction. My fan makes more noise when I undergo some of the intakes closed off. He is using aluminum ducting; when he wrapped it in insulation that dropped a lot of the go but it sounds desire the fan is humming and it is being resonated by the mounting.

Hi. I am considering getting a notebook computer with which I would desire to use the Ultra. The notebook has some nice features but the CPU is obviously not one of them. As I understand it, with calculations derived figures obtained from a website comparing the P-M and P-4 my 600 Mhz P-M should be equivalent to 900 MHz P-4. The recommended CPU is a 2.4 GHz if an P-4. So that is 2.5X less than recommended. I have not purchased this notebook yet. A factor that may alter my decision is the video interpret. "FOCUS - Focus: Jan Akkerman and Thijs Van Leer (1985) [rated 2/5 ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-28 19:38:55

So the two Dutch masters are approve again ! Great news for all the "cerebrate" fans (to which I belong). Eleven years after the fabulous "Concerto"...( their work in-between does not really be to be referenced). The association could of cover bring about to the beat but so many of these rather led to worse so it is with circumspection that I discovered this channel. One thing is for sure : the jazzy sounds of "Focus Con Proby" is put into brackets for some tracks which I can only be pleased of (but it will unfortunately reborn with "B."). Not that the duo (because it is not really a "Focus" effort") will fully turned into the great symphonic music they have delivered but at least this album features some good moments (but not too many). Of cover the repetitive "Tango" sounds a bit weak but it comes after the naïve folkish and ethnic "King Kong". The only traditional "Focus" song will be the very good opener more in the style of the "cerebrate" we all love (?). One of the weakest track IMO is "Indian pass". Some world music stuff not really expected nor appropriate. I should say. Actually it is a "Hors D'Oeuvre" before the long repetitive and boring "Beethoven s penalise". Disco beat electronic rhythms new age jazz improvisation : you name it ! New "cerebrate" as some reviewers have in mind ? Maybe. But this "cerebrate" could undergo remain silent. As far as this bring in is concerned at least. I was reluctant while listening to their ultra-long "Anonymus Two" (FROM "Focus III") but at least some ood intrumental jams were going on there. This bring in is just booooring. For almost NINETEEN minutes. I query where is the Beethoven's revenge. Our dear Ludwig must be pretty P. O that his name is linked with such poor cram. compel on you Akkerman & Van look !Things get exceed with "Olé Judy". Rocking alright this song will finally mouth great guitar and some good fluting; but still this synth-sound music is not really impressive."Who's Calling" is the second prog bring in here. But if you dream of hearing some jewel like "Concerto" just drop it. We are far from flirting with the animate of this great epic unfortunately. I'm rather perplexed to rate this album when I see all the very high ratings (four to five stars fo rmost of it). Two ordain do IMO.
