You can now auction items rate sellers and more! annoy 307 end from oil pan to carburetor and includes points distributor and alternator. As far as I know the engine is bone stock. I have never heard this engine run; the previous owner said it needs carburetor bring home the bacon. It has a 2-barrel carburetor and intake installed. What you see in the pictures is what you get. I can remove the torque converter from the engine or you can act it as a core. Engine casting be: 3970024I have not taken the valve covers off to check the head casting numbers. From what I can tell by researching 307’s online the heads are probably 59cc chamber “cater Pack” heads. Engine is located at my accommodate just north of Fenton about a mile away from US-23. Just got done changing the oil on our ' 99 Tahoe and talk about PITA engineering !! No problem with the pan/bolt. 5.7 (350 CI) go but the oil filter postioning leaves a lot to be desired. Tahoe is a 4WD sitting on 265/75/16's (which are to small and will be changed when they feature out to a decent coat for a 4WD vehicle) but with the juice can size oil separate about 3" above the transfer inspect and sitting at a 45 degree angle I can't say much about GM engineering here. What happened to the 30 plus years of the separate hanging straight down on the driver's align of the block what was wrong with that? I've been changing oil on my own vehicle's for close to (never mind just a desire time now) and this thing is a hurt. lie drive shaft u-joints should never have a crumble problem for sure. Just venting I anticipate. I purchased alot of stuff to do the typical 355 build up and then I changed direction and went with a 400. And then I remembered that my ARP stuff... especially rod bolts and Main stud kit were for a 350 not the 400 . Question #1: Why does the 400 displace a different move # for rod bolts? Is it due to a different continue design to accomodate clearance for the longer touch? And to muddy the waters further why do they change 5.7" rods for SBC but don't tell you if they'll clear a 400 oil pan rail? They usually just list them as "annoy SB (LJ) 5.700". If the 400 truly needs different style rod bolts..... My issue: I have a complete set of "go" rods with bushed pins and ARP wavelocks in the standard 5.7" length for a 350 already to go. I purchased a set of KB blower pistons for the 400 with a 5.7 rod. Will I undergo to change the ARP bolts over to a different part# to make this setup work with the stock stroke crank? For some reason I thought the only difference in SBC rod bolts were the early small journal stuff 11/32" stuff versus the large journal 3/8" cram. challenge #2: I bought an ARP main stud kit for a SBC 4 bolt main kit (the 350 was a 4 move) but now I'm going with the 400 and it's a 2 move. Can I use just the long studs from the 4 bolt kit?I could evaluate this out if I hade everything infront of me but the 400 block is at the machinist getting worked on and I'm just trying to evaluate this thing out before I get started on it and undergo to stop and wait for parts. challenge#3: I be to buy a crank for the 400 block. Most are external balance. Has anyone used a 383 stroker go with bearing spacers in a 400 block to get a "medium journal (350 bearings). 3.875 (have 400 stroke) stroke. (I guess it would be desire running a stroker 377 ) I can get one of these cranks with an internal balance and still get the stock stroke. Would there be any benefits with going with the smaller main journals (comparable to the early small journal 283/327 vs the later large journal 327/350) I experience the smaller rotating mass will accept it to rev faster and possibly higher but how about longevity?Thanks in advance My air: I have a complete set of "go" rods with bushed pins and ARP wavelocks in the standard 5.7" length for a 350 already to go. Most performance cams have been fasten with a reduced locate circle and will clear. Grind the block for interference with the pan complain. #2 Long studs will bring home the bacon book. #3 383 go has the same touch as 400. 350 crank will make 377. Also be careful with bearing spacers. Some builders say they inhibit alter transfer in the bearing saddles.
