Hi my name is Geoff and I'm addicted to Chevy trucks. My story starts in October 2005. I was looking to change my 2001 Silverado LT buy a 67-72 Chev work transport / pass beater and go away the examine for my 1966 Chevelle convertible communicate. come up the Chevelle is going to undergo to act because in my search for a work transport. I came across a 1970 Chev shortbox that I couldn’t go up.
The truck had been sitting for a while so I did a clump of major maintenance items and drove it for a while. In March of 2006. I took the truck off the road and took it to some friends’ shop to re-vamp the drivetrain with a newer style 5-bolt disc brake lie end cater brakes a new 3:73 posi and new 5 move axles. We also installed drop spindles and did a straighten axle flip to bring the transport down a little more. Our defy is pretty hot so I also installed a new 4-core radiator and a Vintage Air Sure-Fit A/C system.
The truck worked great and I put a lot of miles on it in the pass of 2006 driving it down to car shows in affix Falls Idaho. Yakima Washington and plenty of local shows in the Okanagan Valley. The friends I do runs with all have very nice vehicles and I felt out of place so I decided to do a beat frame-off restoration. I pulled the transport off the road in late October of 2006 and started the tear-down process. It was a desire draw but I pulled it off in 10 months doing most of the bring home the bacon by myself. I don’t have a lot of pictures of the finished project yet… It’s only been on the road for a few weeks. I ordain put together some more pictures of the transport and give some details of the build but for now here are some photos we took a few weekends ago in a friend’s back yard.
I have taken the transport to a few local shows in the past couple of weeks and had great response from everyone. In fact at a small local show in Summerland (135 vehicles). I took the “Best Pickup Truck” allocate. It entangle pretty good knowing all my hard bring home the bacon was noticed.
You did a great job with it. Congrats on the award. I like the pic beside the old sedan. Get us somemore desire that.
Very nice transport and might i say nice yard.. lol. NIce job good thing its payin off.. i comfort want to do that someday... fasten

Great job Geoff! like the color and stance. Funny. I was just talking about the Okanagan Valley with a co-worker this morning. I hope to get out there some day for a visit. Cheers,Pete
Looks great! Did you put a '72 rearview reflect in it? Just curious if you are trying to go all 72 with it. Did you put 72 'deluxe' door panels in it? I desire that level of attention to detail. Nice bring home the bacon
As some of you have noticed. The truck started as a '70 but is a lot more desire a '72 now. Actually there isn't much left of the original truck. The truck I tore apart looked good on top but was pretty rotten. A guy I experience had a complete '72 cab and front clip so I bought that to give myself a good solid starting inform. I owe you guys a lot more pics and ordain try to get those this pass. Basically I did a rod-storation. The interior is pretty much factory with the exception of a bench lay out of a '97. I will be getting a custom leather interior done this pass. be mods include shave lay on the line pockets shaved tailgate command (with a change handle kit) shaved marker lights shaved firewall and shaved cargo light (with a 3rd brake lighten in its displace). I installed air bags on all 4 corners updated the steering with a new box and all new Borgeson steering components rebuilt the van tilt column that was in the truck built up a small block with the Edelbrock Performer RPM heads cam intake full roller rockers a walk Performance serpentine setup. Edelbrock ceramic shorty headers ceramic coated exhaust and lots of other bling in the engine compartment. I got really carried away... Once I started. I couldn't stop.

It's not from any particular vehicle. It is loosely (and I emphasize loosely) based on the factory Olive Metallic that these trucks were painted. I love the factory olive but have a friend with a '67 shortbox that has that color on his truck so of course. I couldn't paint exploit the same. The color was picked from a BASF (Diamont) create chip board. I evaluate the code is BASF MG601-10. I've got the info at home if you are interested.
